Below is a short segment of an extensive dialogue we conducted with Pamela, which appears in its entirety in our book "Dialogues With Emerging Spiritual Teachers."

Q. Some say that through silence alone one can realize enlightenment.  Others say it's through action alone.  How do we cut through this dichotomy?

A.  The fastest way, from my experience and through many of my friends' experience, is to go sit with someone who's already "resting."  Robert Adams used to say, "It's the vibratory rate.  It has nothing to do with knowledge, it has nothing to do with any practice."  It makes sense.  Silence and love vibrate at an immense vibratory rate.  It's immense. And anything that comes in contact with it rests and comes into harmony or at One with that higher vibratory rate.  It's much faster just to go sit with a friend who's resting.
